Putting the power back in her hands - We rely on the generosity of our communities to support in giving these women the freedom to support themselves, allowing them to purchase the essentials for their families independently during their stay in crisis accommodation.

SDVS strives to Empower Independence within our residents and clients, encouraging and facilitating them to support themselves and their children independently. One of the commons forms of abuse we see experienced by our clients is financial - This can mean they might have experienced monitoring of expenditure, not being allowed access to a personal account, not being allowed to be financially independent of a spouse or partner, not being allowed to seek employment, and the list goes on.

Often this means when they do reach out for support, them may not have the means to support themselves and their children even at basis levels. We use this fund to purchase grocery retail gift vouchers for our clients/residents - Enabling the women to shop and provide for themselves and their children independently.
